Нам, жителям РФ, интересен этот продукт американской военной мысли в первую очередь тем, что он управляется Windows. Что из этого следует? В 1998 г. ракетный крейсер "Йорктаун" был полностью лишен контроля на три часа в связи с тем, что один из операторов на своем терминале попытался произвести деление на ноль. В результате повис не только терминал, но и весь корабль, который работал под управлением Windows NT 4.0. Короче говоря, некоторые из этих "smart ships" представляют собой угрозу для жителей хартленда, да и для самих американцев, в связи с тем, что неизвестно, что можно ожидать от Windows в таких случаях. Хорошо, если она просто зависнет...

It is doubtfull that situation is different now.
