Мхи/Moss

На сгнивших остатках дома писателя Д. Григоровича ныне растут дивной красоты мхи.

These are beautiful photos of a mysterious world possibly taken at your country home up north. I have never attempted macro photography, which I think these may be. And the images are lichen? I have seen images like this only from northern Russia. I do not know if the same lichen grows in the US although I've seen very flat aqua colored lichen on rocks while hiking in the woods.

Please tell me about the man in the painting. Is he an ancestor?

Thank you for sharing your photos :)

No, they are not from the northern part of russia - in fact, the ruins of the old house on which they are growing are just 15 meters far from the horse you liked )). This guy on the painting is a famous russian writer who was living in this house not far from us before the Revolution. He was writing about the hard life of russian villagers in the times of the Emperor. But there are very few people who heard of him now and I cant say I know anybody who read his books. Perhaps I will but I am not sure they are really interesting )).

I hope you own the photo of the famous Russian writer -- not for monetary worth but as a piece of Russian literary figures. Someday he will surely be known.

Thank you for the information. Again, I highly admired your photos.

Unfortunately, I dont have - I found it in wikipedia. But it is doubtfull that he will become famous again - there are so much things people have to learn now and classic literature is loosing it`s positions.
