I have no idea. But he was a captain and this monument has been created recently.

Also I am not sure that it is his portrait. Perhaps its a portrait of someone who loved him.

I recognized he was an officer and thought he might have been a POW. But as you say, perhaps the stone is of someone else. The image in the stone is not of happiness. Stones such as this hold many mysteries. Thanks for sharing.
